RotoSil Nano™ Surface Finish Offers Improved Corrosion Resistance And a 10-year Performance Warranty on All Tilt&Turn Components

CHESTER, CT— May 8, 2008 — RotoSil Nano™, a new surface treatment that provides improved corrosion resistance and a 10-year performance warranty* on all tilt&turn hardware components, is now available from Roto Frank of America, Inc.

The RotoSil Nano finish is a standard upgrade that is being applied to all galvanic tilt&turn components in the Roto NT European line, including the NT Designo™. The NT Designo which is popular in both luxury and light commercial applications enables window manufacturers to completely conceal the window hardware in the sash.

The RotoSil Nano finish enables the hardware to withstand the harsh elements of nature including high heat, extreme cold, and particularly in areas where humidity and salt water are prevalent. It has no visible difference to the previous surface finish.

A zinc nanoparticle coating is optically sealed to provide optimal corrosion protection for the zinc base layer of material. Nanoparticles provide a “self-healing” process for the surface-finish in the case of damages such as scratches. The entire coating system is free from Chrome (VI) compounds and represents no environmental, toxicological, hygienic or sanitary health hazards.

The Roto NT components are tested to 20,000 tilt cycles and up to 30,000 turn cycles and undergo numerous quality tests including extensive salt spray tests.

According to Dan Gray, director of sales and marketing, “With the RotoSil Nano finish our goal is to provide our customers with the most innovative technology in corrosion resistance available— without having to pay a higher price. We’re always trying to come up with ways that will extend the life of our hardware and offer customers the competitive advantage they need. We believe RotoSil Nano will help accomplish this.”
