Roto NT Designo [de’sinjo]: New concealed window hardware

Delicate and nevertheless robust

Nuremberg / Leinfelden-Echterdingen - (rp) Roto strengthens its successful NT Tilt&Turn hardware system once again; this time with a new concealed hardware generation. The “Roto NT Designo” - celebrating its premiere at the fensterbau/frontale 2006 - can be used in all timber and PVC windows, and according to the manufacturer, meets the increased demands on window design; taking high sash weights, maximum opening distances as well as required functional safety into consideration.

If there is a clear trend in building architecture, then without a doubt one of these is the preference for slimline profile elevations as well as aesthetic symmetries on windows. Roto has carried its thoughts through on this tendency, and with “Roto NT Designo” launches a hardware solution on the market that no longer disturbs the clear window lines with hinges. The principle: all components including the complete hinge-side are dimensioned at an extreme minimum and because of this are invisibly integrated in both the frame and sash. In addition, cover caps are a thing of the past. In addition to this, the newly designed attractive and small pivot rests (also invisible when installed) enable force deviations with the special steel, and aesthetically appear advantageous. The entire hardware is synchronised with the Roto NT modular system and can be used versatilely.

Thanks to its high stability, the innovation can even be used on windows with a sash weight of up to 130 kilogrammes by means of a special component. This is a particular advantage for security and insulating-glazing that demands heavy glass thicknesses. The producer from Leinfelden-Echterdingen near Stuttgart also reports a unique position regarding the opening width: this innovation enables - in comparison with other competitive products - a large opening angle of 100°. Security components such as the T-entry in the tilt mechanism or the anti-jemmy protection integrated in the corner hinge - that is automatically activated with the first closing operation and prevents accidents of sashes falling out - guarantee the necessary functional safety. A further extra named by Roto is the permanent lubrication by means of the patented lubrication depots; these make retro lubricating superfluous, the new hardware enjoys permanent smooth running and low maintenance. In addition to that, it is in accordance with burglary-resistance grade 2 of DIN EN 1627-1630.

Minimum installation time and expense, maximum automation

Furthermore, "Roto NT Designo" offers convenient ease of operation: Window sashes can be tridimensionally adjusted by means of adjusting screws; this simplifies adjustments in all situations and at the same time guarantees permanent and jam-free operation. Practical: only one Allen key is needed for lateral, vertical and gasket-compression adjustments. The new hinge-side has been so cleverly designed by Roto that only one person is enough to hinge sashes into their frames. This makes installation easier and faster.

Apart from the minimised workload, the manufacturer emphasises the short installation times because this new line enables automated sash hardware installation and with that: the desired rationalisation in many window-fabricating companies. Furthermore, the consistent integration of the NT modular system has a positive cost effect, decreasing the components diversity considerably. The individual components present themselves in a well-proven manner; colourfully displaying their matt silver high-tech surface-finish. Last but not least, the Swabian company declares that the resulting benefits lead to a leaner supply range with simplified logistics, particularly beneficial to distributors.

One more reason for Roto to concentrate development capacities as well as the entire production expertise on the expansion of the modular NT range. The worldwide market leader for Tilt&Turn hardware describes the new concealed hardware with its advanced technical and design details as an ideal solution for interior design in prestigious projects, owner-occupied homes, and apartment buildings. This is available from July 2006 for single and und double-sashed windows as Tilt&Turn, Turn-Only, Tilt-Only, as well as for Tilt-First windows (equipped with turn-restrictor, tilt restrictor, and anti-slam device as standard).
